Valley View University Holds Its 33rd Graduation Ceremony

Valley View University (VVU) held its 33rd Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, August 17, 2025, under the theme “Trained to Serve: Advancing the Mission with Integrity and Excellence.” A total of 1,297 graduands from various departments were conferred with degrees.

The Commencement Speaker, Dr. Robert Osei-Bonsu, General Vice President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, shared his life experiences and encouraged the graduands to embrace three key principles: dream big but start small, serve faithfully wherever they find themselves, and never forget their roots. He urged them to serve as true ambassadors of Christ-like service to the world.

Chancellor of VVU, Pastor Dr. Bassey Udoh, reminded the graduands that though they were stepping beyond the gates of the university, they must continue to uphold its legacy. He emphasized that they were empowered with knowledge, equipped with faith, and called to lead in a world filled with uncertainty.

Vice Chancellor Prof. William Koomson, in his address, charged the graduands to “run to win the race,” stressing that while VVU had provided them with hard skills, they also needed soft skills to succeed. He encouraged them to pursue their goals with purpose and intentionality, striving for excellence without limits. After his speech, he honored his three personal advisors for their outstanding support and contribution to his leadership.

Registrar Mr. Albert Imbrah congratulated the graduating class, describing the ceremony as a celebration of resilience, commitment, and faith. He also urged them to live by the university’s core values of excellence, integrity, and service, while paying tribute to the memory of eight distinguished Ghanaians, including Ministers of State, who recently lost their lives in a national tragedy.

The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the Regional Minister for Kpone-Katamanso, Hon. Akweley Ocloo, alongside other notable guests who joined in celebrating the milestone.

The colourful event marked yet another chapter in VVU’s mission of training graduates committed to service, leadership, and faith-driven excellence.
