A study of Ghana's Decentralisation, Local Governance and Accountability

 Congratulations,

Dr. Martin Akotey, a Senior Lecturer and HOD, Development Studies, Valley View University for authoring a book entitled A study of Ghana's Decentralisation, Local Governance and Accountability”.

The book which has been reviewed by three Professors and proofread was born out of the rich experience of Dr. Akotey, a consultant, development and governance specialist.

This book, inter alia, fills in the missing gap between the several aspects of the decentralization system investigated by scholars and the examination of the actual internal processes of the Assemblies, particularly from the perspectives of insiders.

Considering the in-depth knowledge and value of the said book, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Valley View University has voted to use it as a textbook for Local Governance course and any other subjects that deal with Decentralisation and Local Governance.

The over 350-page book has also been reviewed and recommended by the Head of Ghana's Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Stephen Ato-Arthur to be used by students, researchers and all Local Government practitioners in Ghana.

Again, the University Relations Office on behalf of the Administration is excited to announce that the above-mentioned book has received approval from the Books and Publications Committee for  supporting the production of this important book.

In addition to the above, plans are far advanced with the final production of the book by the accredited printing press of the University, the Advent Press.

Watch out for upcoming announcement about the final production of this much awaited book so that everyone would grab a copy of the book to enhance the understanding of decentralisation in the country.
