Valley View University (VVU) Collaborates With Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) To Train their Personnel in a Six-Month Music Program

As part of efforts to strengthen the collaboration between the Ghana Armed Forces music school and the Valley View University Music Department, a six-month certificate course in music is being organised to train personnel of the GAF.

To facilitate the training programme, Mr. Emmanuel Boahen, Head of the VVU Music Department and Pr. Ebenezer Quaye, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Theological Studies, paid a two-day working visit to the GAF Music School in Accra on November 8 and 9, 2023, to engage the personnel in seminars on topics such as “the power of music” and “the benefits of music.” They were accompanied by some Ghanaian musicians including Samuel Owusu and five other students who are part of the program.

The Ghana Armed Forces Music School has been affiliated with the VVU Music Department, aimed at building the capacity of both parties and sharing knowledge. Management of both institutions expects that the engagement process between the GAF and VVU will continue to grow for optimum outcomes. The Head of the VVU Music Department has assured the GAF that the University will continue to provide the needed support in training the GAF personnel. He added that VVU would be guided by its core values of excellence, integrity and service in delivering the training programme.
