Profile & Biography

Professor Daniel Ganu is a dedicated educator and scholar in Public Health whose vocation is rooted in the integration of faith, learning, and service. He has extensive experience in university teaching, mentoring, and academic administration across diverse geographical locations and institutions. With a career spanning over two decades, Professor Ganu has served in various academic roles, contributing significantly to institutional development, academic quality, and strategic transformation.

Professor Ganu holds a Doctoral and Master’s degrees in Public Health from the Adventist University of the Philippines. He earned his undergraduate degree in Theology and Health Science from Andrews University in the USA. Prof. Ganu’s teaching and administrative experiences include serving at Valley View University (2002-2012) in various roles: faculty member, HOD, Deputy Vice President and Vice President for Academic Administration, Director of Quality Assurance and Academic Planning, and Director of University Health Services.  In 2012, Professor Ganu joined the Adventist University of Africa in Kenya, where he held roles including Faculty member, Director of Quality Assurance, Coordinator of the Master of Public Health program, Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, and Program Coordinator for the PhD in Public Health. 

Prof. Ganu’s academic career is marked by a strong record of research and scholarly publications, postgraduate supervision, and participation in national and international research collaborations. He has earned numerous awards, including a Best Paper award at a research conference in Germany, an Outstanding Research award from Johnson & Johnson Collaborative Research, and an Exceptional Faculty award from Valley View University, among many others. He also served as the Principal Investigator for the African Health Study and as Editor-in-Chief of the Pan-African Journal of Health and Environmental Sciences.  Professor Ganu is an ordained Seventh-day Adventist Minister of the gospel. Throughout his career, Prof. Daniel Ganu has exemplified an unwavering commitment to the Adventist philosophy of education, continuous learning, and discovery.
