| VVU Presents Medical Equipments to the National Cardio Thoracic Center | |||||

The Valley View University (VVU has presented assorted medical items worth over one hundred and forty-eight thousand (US 148,000) U. S dollars to the National Cardiothoracic Center (NAC) in Accra. The items included quantities of Auto transfusion set, Bladder syringes, Enteral delivery system, Adult Resuscitator, clutches and intra veirnous fluid giving set. Others were Gloves, Bowls, Kidney dish and Vacuum Extractor. Making the presentation on behalf of VVU President, Dr. Seth Abang Laryea, the Director of Marketing and Communications, Pastor Joe Aaron Hagan said the items were part of the gift donation to the University for academic and humanitarian gesture by the School of Nursing and their hospital on campus from GIVING CHILDREN HOPE, a Division of Global Operation and Development in the United States of America. Pastor Hagan said VVU President, Dr. Laryea while visiting U. S. A some time made appeal for support and collaboration in the university's operation. The donors, GIVING CHILDREN HOPE is a faith based humanitarian organization which focuses on health issues, relief, refugee assistance and projects serving the poor, a Public benefit non-profit organization, registered Private Volunteer Organization (P. V. O) with the U. S. A. I D. Their motive for operation is based on the scripture which says "Those who help the poor honour God" (Proverbs 14:31). Receiving the items on behalf of the Co-ordinator, Prof. Frimpong Boateng, the Deputy Director of Nursing Service (DDNS) in-charge, Mrs. Rebecca Essilfie thanked both VVU and the American Partners for caring enough to come to the aid of the Center. She said the items were plenty and useful and promised that after sorting them out, those they considered to be useful for other departments of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital would be shared with them for improved, efficient health care delivery system. Present at the presentation ceremony were other N.A.C staff including a Senior Surgeon specialist, Dr Lawrence Sereboe, and the Head of Theology department of VVU Pastor Emmanuel Kofi Boateng. Among the beneficiary institutions are Government Hospitals at Dodowa, Nsawam, Winneba and Saltpond. Others are Kunta Kinte Orthopedic Hospital, Mampong- Akwapim, St Joseph Hospital Koforidua, St Dominic Catholic Hospital, Akwatia, and the SDA Nurses Training College, Asanta, W. Region.
