A Message from the President

Greetings from the alumni association.
I am privileged to be offered the opportunity to serve this great association of ours. I am indeed grateful. For some years now, after a humble and a low key beginning of this institution of ours it has blossomed into a major contributor in tertiary education in this country and beyond.
At such a time as this when new educational institutions are springing up by the tick of the clock and alumni associations are being  organized and activated across board has it come by chance that we should be called upon to put ourselves together and to keep the alumni going.  Is it not just proper and expedient that we take a keener interest in the affairs of Valley View University and in the activities of the alumni?  Is it not worth it that we should invest time, money, and influence to help our Alma Mater take her rightful place in tertiary education through the activities of the alumni association?
The enviable position of our Alma Mater as the first private university in Ghana and one that enjoys a full charter status did not come easy.  Dedicated men and women both at home and abroad sacrificed so greatly in divers’ ways to bring us where we are today. Thank God these illustrious sympathizers have not given up on us yet. Their shining example is there for us to emulate.   At such a challenging time as this we are being called upon to do our best to be a noticeable part of this great success story.
I, together with the current leadership of the alumni have accepted this appointment because we trust and believe that you are there to continually support your alumni. We really want to dream big and together build upon what has already been done and more.
However, what will come of our dreams if the live and strength of the alumni, which is YOU, become indifferent to the calls and activities of the association?
Your guess is as correct as mine.  We can’t afford to let Valley View and the alumni settle for mediocrity and to operate low key.  I believe we have what it takes to move forward. We have YOU, and that is why I know we can move on to take the association and for that matter, Valley View higher.
Forgive the pastor in me and allow a little preaching. Thank you. We have come this far individually by God’s grace and we cannot deny the fact that the Lord in His mercy decided to make Valley View a part of our personal story. We will ever live to carry the baggage of VVU with us and whatever baggage we help to put together will surely impact on us. The stake is very high and we cannot afford to downplay it.
A lot of plans and activities for this year such as VVU Alumni Scholarship Fund, VVU Alumni Think Tank Rally, Alumni Home-coming, and Launching of best alumnus award are being thought through and we surely need your input.  At all levels of the leadership of the association, be it local, campus, regional or national you will hear us calling for your support.  A positive response is expected and I know and trust that it will come from YOU.
God richly bless you and have a prosperous happy new year.
Pastor Kofi Agyenim Boateng
