Entry Requirements

Only students who have fulfilled all entry requirements at the time of application shall be considered for admission.

BBA- All Options

Applicants must have one of the following academic requirements in order to be admitted to the degree programme.

      • GCE ‘O’ Level: Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes and a pass in General Paper.  One of the two (2) ‘A’ Level passes must be, at least, a D.
      • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): Six SSSCE passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Integrated Science, English) plus three electives.
      • West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE).  Six passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) plus three electives.
      • Other diplomas and certificates deemed equivalent to any of the three above will be considered on merit.
      • Mature Students (Age 25 years or over): One of the following:
        • Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level or School Certificate credits including English Language and Mathematics.
        • Holders of Teachers’ Post Secondary School Certificate (2 or 3-year).
        • General Education Development Diploma: (GED) with an average score of 50 and no score less than 45 in each of the five subjects.  The GED is equivalent to an American high school diploma.  It is awarded to mature students by various State Education Departments.  The examinations are prepared and graded by the GED Testing Service based in Washington, DC, USA.

BA- Religious Studies and BA- Theology

Applicants must have one of the following academic requirements in order to be admitted to the degree programme.

      • GCE ‘O’ Level: Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes and a pass in General Paper.  One of the two (2) ‘A’ Level passes must be, at least, a D.
      • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination: Six SSSCE passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Integrated Science, English) and three electives.
      • West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE).  Six passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) plus three electives.
      • Other diplomas and certificates deemed equivalent to any of the three above will be considered on merit.
      • Mature Students (Age 25 years or over): One of the following:
    • Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level or School Certificate credits including English Language and Mathematics.

    BSc- Computer Science

    Applicants must have one of the following academic requirements in order to be admitted to the degree programme.

      • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): Six passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Integrated Science and English) plus three electives.The three electives should include elective Mathematics and any two elective sciences[ Physics, Chemistry & Biology].
      • Two (2) GCE Advanced Level passes in Science and five GCE Ordinary Level credits in Science. Two (2) of the GCE Ordinary Level credits should be English and Mathematics.
      • West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE).  Six passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) plus three electives. The three electives should include elective Mathematics and any two elective sciences[ Physics, Chemistry & Biology].
      • Other diploma and certificates deemed equivalent to any of the three above will be considered on merit.
      • Mature Students aged 25 or over and has 3 years working experience:
    • Five (5) GCE Ordinary Level or School Certificate credits including English Language and Mathematics. or
    • Holders of Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ 3-year Post Secondary.

    NOTE: Mature students will be required to attend an interview to determine their eligibility for the program.

    BSc- Information Technology

    Applicants must have one of the following academic requirements in order to be admitted to the degree programme.

      • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE):

    Passes in Core English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science plus three electives from General Science, Business, Technical Skills, Vocational Skills and Agriculture with an aggregate score of 24 or better,

      • West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE)  Six passes with an aggregate of 24 of better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) plus three electives,

    or

      • Two (2) GCE Advanced Level passes in Science and five GCE Ordinary Level credits in Science.  Two (2) of the GCE Ordinary Level credits should be English and Mathematics.
      • Other diploma and certificates deemed equivalent to (1) and (2) of the above by NAB/GES will be considered on merit.
      • HND diploma holders will be admitted on the program and exemptions will be given where appropriate.
      • Mature Students aged 25 or over and has 3 years working experience:
    • Five (5) GCE Ordinary Level or School Certificate credits including English Language and Mathematics.

    or

    • Holders of Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ 3-year Post Secondary.

    NOTE: Mature students will be required to attend an interview to determine their eligibility for the program.

    BEd- Secondary Education

    Applicants must have one of the following academic requirements in order to be admitted to the degree programme.

        • GCE ‘O’ Level: Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes and a pass in the General Paper.  One of the two (2) ‘A’ Level passes must be, at least, a D.

        • Other diplomas and certificates deemed equivalent to any of the three (3) above will be considered on merit.
        • @Ú
    • Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level or School Certificate credits including English Language and Mathematics.

    BSc- Development Studies

    Applicants must have one of the following academic requirements in order to be admitted to the degree programme or diploma programme in Development Studies or Community Development.

        • GCE ‘O’ Level: Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes and a pass in the General Paper. One of the two (2) ‘A’ Level passes must be, at least, a D.
        • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination: Six SSSCE passes with aggregate 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science, English) plus three electives.
        • West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE).  Six passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) plus three electives.
        • Other diplomas and certificates deemed equivalent to any of the three above will be considered on merit.
        • Mature Students (Age 25 years or over): One of the following:

    BSc- Nursing

          • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination: Six SSSCE passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science, and English) with at least A-D plus three electives with at least A-E. The electives could be any of the following Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
          • West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE)  Six passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) with at least A1-C6 plus three electives with at least A1-E8 from the following, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
          • GCE ‘O’ Level: Five (5) credits including English Language, Mathematics and a Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Health Science, General Science plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes and a pass in the General Paper.  One of the two (2) ‘A’ Level passes must be, at least, a D.
          • Foreign students must have their high school certificates/diplomas translated into English with an accompanying statement showing how their system equates to the Ghana system.
          • American High School Diploma Candidates should have passed the exam with a cumulative average of 90% or better and should also have passes at the SSSCE in two (2) pure science subjects including Chemistry and Mathematics.
          • Diploma holders will be considered on an individual basis depending on their SSSCE passes.
          • The first year of the programme is considered pre-clinical. Nursing students are only admitted in August and since most courses are sequential they are only offered once a year.
