• To equip the student with a deeper and comprehensive understanding of the concept of development and its impact on developing economies.
  
  
• To expose the student to the issues of underdevelopment and the various approaches to development.
  
  
• To produce God fearing, selfless, loving, motivated and dedicated-development professionals who will promote and contribute to the development of humanity irrespective of their background: race, colour, sex, ethnicity, political affiliation, etc.
  
  
• To provide the students with practical hands-on experience in undertaking development projects.
  
  
• To train students to appreciate the current environmental challenges that shape and influence developmental activities.
  
  
• To provide the student with the necessary academic and professional skills that will make the graduate marketable or capable of being self-employed.
